Grading Policy

1.  A bit of advice: Attendance is not mandatory, but game theory and economics, while of great practical importance, is a very difficult intellectual pursuit.  With that in mind, you must try to come to every class and work with the material a little every day.

2.  Class participation.  This semester I will be keeping track of who participates.  There will be points for an informed answer, fewer points for any thing that is a little relevant, and no points for non-response.   If I call on you 10 times during the semester and you have a substantive answer every time then you will receive a 100 for that part of your grade.  If you never are able to contribute then you would receive a zero for that part of your grade.

3.  There will be many short homework assignments during the semester.

4.  There will be a midterm and a final.  These will be closed book exams.

5.  The homework and exams will be scaled so that a numerical grade has the usual mapping to a letter grade.  That is, 80-89 is a B, and so on.   Therefore you will always know where you stand before class participation is factored into your course grade.
